New player "Failed to register launcher session"

I just downloaded this server as I'm looking for somewhere else to play. However the launcher always fails to register launcher session. I'm reading theres a "latest launcher" update out here somewhere, but I have no idea if im using it or not lol. I've joined the Discord but am unable to interact with it yet as a fresh new player / profile. I was able to log into the game via the exe without the launcher, but in game theres a message that informed me I'd be kicked out because i didn't use the launcher.
