TBC Content Date? Naxx

Heard a lot of people saying that the TBC content would be unlocked on the 1st of September...I saw a lot of people waiting and waiting and waiting to jump into Outlands...for hours! Is this just a hoax that someone started, or is it really supposed to happen?
