2560x1440 Causes game freeze and forced computer restart

Post by Cnyncrvr » Fri Jan 10, 2020 6:30 pm

When I try to set the game to my native resolution of 2560x1440 in full screen the game crashes and locks my computer up to the point of needed a complete restart. Anyone got a fix for this?

How is your graphics card, does it support the resolution ? WoW-Mania client has been on my test above others by showing 4K resolution properly instead of scaling parts of it outside the screen.

Hi,

I believe this might be an issue on your end, with your hardware not being up for the task.
However, I am no expert in that field.

Please let me know if you manage to figure it out :)

Well hardware not being up to the task is certainly not the case. I have an i9 9900k and an RTX 2080 TI. And 32 gigs of DDR4 3200 memory. So its certainly not a hardware issue. Also running on a 144hz 2560 x 1440 P 32" gaming monitor.

It could also be since this client is so old, from 2010 when WotLK was last seen, that it may not even have the support for that resolution, and I do not think there is something we can do about that, unfortunately.

I might be wrong though.

I think the hardware is not the problem, maybe the version is too old.

It's possible that the game is not compatible with your display's native resolution or there may be an issue with your graphics card or driver. Here are some steps you can try to fix the issue:

Update your graphics card driver tobackrooms game the latest version. You can usually download the latest driver from the manufacturer's website.

Try running the game in windowed mode instead of full screen. This can sometimes help resolve issues with resolution and graphics.

Check the game's settings to see if there are any options to adjust the resolution or graphics settings. If there are, try lowering the resolution or graphics settings to see if the game runs without crashing.

If the above steps don't work, you may need to contact the game's support team or the manufacturer of your graphics card for further assistance.

If you have recently installed any new hardware or software on your computer, try removing it to see if the issue is resolved. Sometimes conflicts between different hardware or software components can cause issues like this.

I hope one of these steps helps you fix the issue and get your game running smoothly at your desired resolution.
