NPC s not attacking?

Hey guys, im new here, started playing today, but ive been playing for an hour now and none of the npc s are attacking me,they only fight back if i attack them, but otherwise they wont?

It is normal in every games. If every npcs actively attack you, you will have no time to regain your blood.

Just wait until you leave the starting zone. things will want to eat you alive. the starting zones are just safer.
