Using a VPN during play

Postby Mekratrig » Wed May 15, 2019 10:38 am

Hi there -

I downloaded everything OK, can set up a character, but can only log into the game if I disable my VPN. Obviously I'd prefer not to do this regularly, so is there any way to get around it?

Thanks in advance!

I m using Pingzapper, you need to give Ip adresses that VPN uses to Janitor in Discord. So he can take those ip to white list. Otherwise you ll stuck and disconnect after you logged in.

You can use the 'route' command to bypass your VPN. open a cmd window with administrator privileges and type:

route add -p dest.ip.address.here mask 255.255.255.255 your.gateway.address.here

The -p makes it persistent so it doesn't vanish after a reboot.

I recommend reading a tutorial on the full route command as well, so you're familiar with it.

One caveat, if you're using Private Internet Access and their latest client (or similar) you have to disable the "IP Leak Protection", it prevents static routes from bypassing the VPN.
