Problem running client

I have the client loaded and have actually logged in and made a character once, but everytime without fail, my computer shuts down soon after the client opens. Most times I can't even get the video settings adjusted before it shuts down. Once it does I have to remove power completely and wait a few minutes before starting it back up. Even at that I usually get a few blue screens before it comes back and functions normally.
I had no problems running the client from WoW reborn which was also a lich king server and I have no problem running classic wow from lights hope server.
My hardware is:
ASUS M4A78-E motherboard
8 Gb DDR 2 ram
AMD Phenom II x4 940 processor
AMD radeon HD 5670
All drivers are up to date
My operating sys is windows 7
Any thoughts?
